We're

Thinkers & Makers

Our story

Bright blue was founded in 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. The company was born out of the desire to help educators seize the opportunities offered by new technologies and from the continuously improving knowledge of how humans learn and of what motivates them to do so.

Thanks to our unique combination of technical and theoretical know how and first-hand experience of what actually works in real classrooms, our company has quickly earned the confidence of academic institutions all over the world. Our educational material is used in classrooms and museums throughout Europe (France, Switzerland, Belgium), North America (US, Canada), Northern and Western Africa (Marocco, Algeria, Senegal, Cameroon)..., all the way to the remote areas of Papua New Guinea.

Over the years we have also gained a lot of experience in creating engaging learning experiences for private businesses and organizations. We have designed, developed and delivered learning experiences to companies and NGOs of all sizes and active in many different domains (pharmaceuticals, agri-food, aviation, construction,...).

Our team

Bright blue was founded and is directed by Katja Simpson (Dr. Sc. ETH Zürich). Prior to founding bright blue Katja was an associate professor at Pepperdine University and can attest to several years working as an an academic researcher (ETH, University of Geneva) as well as a few years of experience working in the private sector.

Because our projects can vary a lot in scope and size, bright blue operates according to a cooperative business model. This allows us to draw on the expertise of a network of talented professionals while keeping each project as agile and cost-effective as possible. Throughout the projects our clients will be dealing with a single contact person, which in turn relies on a team of professionals including:

  • instructional designers and course content developers
  • graphic artists and audio-visual producers
  • software developers and IT specialists

Our motivation

We are passionate about what we do and we are strongly motivated by the desire to produce engaging courses and didactic materials. We like to thoughtfully analyse and address all of our clients' needs and we are committed to delivering solutions that consistently lead to the achievement of the desired learning objectives.

But our commitment to learning goes beyond our commercial projects. In particular we are committed to facilitating access to accurate scientific information, especially when it comes to topics which play a crucial role in shaping the lives and livelihood of future generations such as climate, energy and natural resources. For this reason on our classroom page teachers, students and parents can freely access many resources dedicated to these topics. We also have a popular youtube channel where we regularly post new videos on a variety of scientific topics.

If you would like to contribute to our youtube channel or classroom page as a donor or as a sponsor please do not hesitate to contact us.

WE LOVE TO LEARN, COLLABORATE, AND CREATE.
